Ack! I can't believe I'm already starting a post about the school year! It's getting closer - just a few more weeks.
My son is 4, he'll be 5 in March and he loves to learn :) I've noticed that we (like so many others) do much better in a structured schedule.
So after much thought and prayer, we have decided to begin Kindergarten this fall. We've chosen to homeschool year round (more on this later) so I'm not going to rush or push anything. We'll be working at his pace - if he's flying through something, we'll keep moving. If he's struggling in an area, we'll slow down and focus more.
I am so excited about this :) I was homeschooled from 3rd grade all the way through high school graduation.
I'm looking forward to being on the other side of the desk and teaching my children. I will do a post in the coming weeks about which curriculum we will use and our schedule, but know that it all came together after many, many searches, conversations, and prayers!

So, when do you children start school? Will you be homeschooling or are they attending a traditional school?

  1. Excited to see how it goes for you! We're doing MDO again this year. Next year, I guess we'll see what to do.

It's so weird to think that you're homeschooling your own child....

  2. Thanks! I couldn't imagine you doing anything else this fall with new twins ;) I think that will be a big enough adjustment!

yes it is weird...a completely different experience - after I adjust to it, I'll probably blog for other homeschooled students considering or starting to homeschool their own children.
